On 27th September each year, World Tourism Day is organized on a special theme to highlight a particular aspect of tourism. The theme changes from year to year and tackles subjects such as cultural diversity, community development, rural tourism and sustainable tourism, etc.

World Tourism Day is an occasion to underline the positive role that tourism can play in development, intercultural understanding and heritage preservation. It encourages travelers to conduct themselves in a manner that is responsible and respectful of the environment when they visit a new destination.

Celebrate World Tourism Day in The Islands of Tahiti

In alignment with numerous other destinations, The Islands of Tahiti celebrates World Tourism Day by organizing exhibitions to promote Polynesian culture, traditional dancing and local craftsmanship and conferences about sustainable tourism and other activities linked to the tourist industry.
